Patna University 1917

Patna University is the 7th oldest university in India

subcontinent, which was founded in the year 1917 to meet the growing needs of higher education of Bihar, Orissa and Nepal. The history of this university is closely linked to the modern history of Bihar - the saga of its educational, cultural, political and economic growth. It is a mark in the annals of the state of the state in particular and the region in general. It is the only university education and housing in the most densely populated state of Bihar. It also has a truly national character that transcends linguistic, cultural and political. The outstanding individuals in the highest administrative functions, many teachers and students learned have contributed to its rich academic heritage.

Bihar is the seat of learning since time immemorial. State universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila same design as students from neighboring countries. A key goal of university education is to produce trained personnel that can accelerate economic growth through the use of science and technology.

In view of the challenges posed by the process of globalization and liberalization in the field of higher education in the 21st century, the university will have its teachers and students with modern techniques, skills and make them competent enough to tackle the challenges and improve the quality of teaching and research. To meet these challenges, the university has focused its attention and launched a number of vocational courses and graduates at post-graduate level to strengthen the human resources of high quality, which can contribute to nation building. In this age of information and communication, the barriers of time and space are now extinct. We provide Internet services, teleconferencing, online library, etc, and we have new courses in the area of new interest such as biotechnology, biochemistry, BCA, MCA, Fashion Design, Sales Management, rural business management, English, Saral Sanskrit Sambhashan, journalism and mass communication, etc. However, the aim of higher education continues to character building. It is true that modern knowledge, information and skills to provide quality education, but the main task of education is to produce enlightened citizens with human contact and commitment to the cause of the nation and society as a whole.

Patna University is the dynamics of quality education to its students, reflecting in large part to the success of our students at all levels of competition in India. Even today, the University of Patna key positions in the research center. During the empowerment of women, we all have a great importance for the education of women and that the university began with education in Patna Women's College and Magadh Mahila College. Of the thirteen constituent colleges, three of them are girls and the other eight are co-teaching, where the number of female students is very high. Patna University has attempted to provide benefits for socially and economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities and also for the weaker members of society. In this context, the university has to follow strictly the reserve of government policy. and their facilities so they can deploy their potential and prove themselves as worthy members of society.

The university NSS, NCC, Sports and Fine Arts Board, who love the University vocalises with life all year round with extra-curricular activities. One of our NSS volunteers Sushree Shruti Anand was awarded the Indira Gandhi NSS. Mili Sinha Sushree Discus Throw received the gold medal in India Inter University Athletics competition in Gulbarga. Volunteers from 14 countries participated in the Camp of National Integration, 2003 supported financially by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Govt. of India.

The population of the state are now aware, but worried about this deplorable situation and the negligence of the growth of higher education in Bihar. The question of conversion of the University of Patna in a Central University has long been outstanding. Questions have been raised several times by Parliament, but the same are turned one way or another. Too late, the financial situation of the university that was once a great center of learning has deteriorated to such an extent that it is almost impossible for even the appearance of its true character and its glorious tradition.

It is in this context that the long pending proposal for the acquisition of Central Patna University are presented, so that the true historical nature of this prestigious institution is maintained and is able to play its legitimate role to play in 'growth of the nation.
